My lovely sweet friend Jennifer Jones graduated from Georgia State University on December 15, 2010. We are so proud of you, J.Jones!!!
Cake was chocolate with a chocolate-orange whipped ganache filling, with vanilla buttercream frosting. The decorations were red vanilla buttercream, and royal blue color flow.

Casey-Moore Wedding, 12/11/10
My first wedding cake! Clients were my sister's friends Melissa Casey (now Moore!) and Alan Moore. Wedding was in Athens, GA, with the reception at the beautiful and historic Hardeman-Sams House. Hubby helped deliver... I should really tip him better!
The cake was my family's red velvet recipe, with cream cheese filling and vanilla-almond buttercream frosting. The red dots and black ribbon matched the (obviously) UGA Red&Black theme - even the bridesmaids in their black cocktail dresses had red shoes and jewelry, and the Groomsmen wore UGA ties! (My sister was the Maid Of Honor).
Best wishes to the Bride and Groom from MGH Cakes as they begin their new life together in South Dakota!!!

Izzi Adkins' 3rd Birthday
Izzi Adkins turned 3 on December 18, and to help her celebrate, her mommy and daddy asked me to decorate a cake and cupcake to match her Ladybug Oh So Sweet birthday theme. This was so much fun to create!!
The cupcakes for the little party-goers were white cake with vanilla buttercream frosting swirled to look like flowers. I made them in green cupcake wrappers to resemble leaves... this is me getting crafty! The ladybugs on top were handmade out of fondant. Izzi's mommy, Stephani, was delighted that they were edible! Don't want any little partiers gnawing on plastic ;-)
The larger cake for the adult attendees was a strawberry cake with strawberry filling, and pink buttercream frosting. The big ladybug on top was cut out of fondant and pieced together like a puzzle... tedious, but I loved the final look of it! Izzi's daddy, Chris, sent me a picture afterwards.... I'd say everyone liked it!
Izzi is going to be a big sister in about 4 weeks... can't wait to help their family celebrate in the future!

Happiness is... Fruit flowers
So, a few things that have made me happy in the past 24 hours...
~ I completed my first wedding cake! Just have to attach the ribbon decorations and stack on-site. Pictures to come after the delivery tomorrow tomorrow... want the Happy Couple to be surprised!
~ My mom's dear friend (and one of my many Other Moms) asked me to do her daughter's graduation cake! This sweet graduate is one of my oldest friends, my sister's BFF, and was one of my bridesmaids, so of course I'd do anything for her! It's for Tuesday, so gotta get crack-a-lackin.
~ My FANTASTIC Hubby sent me a bouquet of fruit! Bahahahaha! He had a lovely Edible Arrangement delivered to my office this morning, with a "Good Luck/I Love You" note attached. He makes me melt like a popsicle on the 4th of July!
It's definitely things like this that make me want to go home from work every day and exhaust myself in the kitchen!
